The list is from Buzzfeed, of course:
110 Reasons Why You Should Never Leave New York City
Because you’re going to miss all these things.
.
By my count, at least 48 of them are about walking, or taking the subway, or the ferry, or something like this:
6. The ability to go out and never worry how you’re going to get home.
18. Never truly worrying about how many glasses of wine you can have.
32. Stopping by somewhere for a drink, then going to your friend’s apartment, then going to another friend’s apartment, then another bar — and home eventually.
47. Just going to “pick up a few things from the grocery store” on your way home from work.
63. Never worrying about parking.
74. Knowing you can get somewhere in, like, 20 minutes, even during rush hour.
110. That feeling of riding over the bridge, looking at the skyline, and realizing just how awesome New York is.
.
.
In other words, the convenience, serendipity and awesomeness of the city on foot, bike, train and the buzz from the bar.

I love walking and taking the subway in New York. I live in Sunnyside, Queens and often take recreational walks from here toward Long Island City passing by PS 1 then over the Pulaski Bridge into Greenpoint, Brooklyn then head toward the East River, turn left eventually and head toward Williamsburg where I love to take a break in the East River Park and sit and gaze across to Manhattan. If I’m feeling energetic I walk over the Williamsburg Bridge and then usually turn right and head north up Clinton Street once I reach Manhattan. There are some wonderful views up and down the river from the bridge. There are always so many people walking and biking over the bridge. I love it. As for walking to have a drink (and never having to drive home) my friendly, local watering hole on the corner of Skillman Avenue and 46th Street in Sunnyside, The Dog and Duck, is a 2 minute walk from my apartment. Why would I leave New York?
