This popular West End art installation is a magnet for tourists yet its set in and among a grey gravel circle surrounded by grey concrete walls and a grey concrete path. Is this the best we can do?

These statutes looked great and were in a captivating setting when the ground was bark mulch. The grey gravel was a mistake and I haven’t liked them since. Bad colour, bad vibe.
Seems reminiscent of the parks in Paris. But them again, it’s also similar to cat litter.
Also, who came up with that comment along the wall? Not needed. Not helpful. Maybe at odds with the variety of messages the artwork can send.
I would guess it was the person who paid for the whole shebang. He who pays the piper calls the tune.
And have you seen the lighting at night? It has all the charm of a prison yard.
Man that made me laugh..
I dunno, I walk by there all the time and to me it looks a lot better than the previous soggy mess.
It is surrounded by green grass, with some nice knolls and there’s plantings all around. Yes the grey gravel is reminiscent of kitty-litter. I don’t remember the lighting being prison-yard like but it could be.
It isn’t “wow” for sure.
