Justifying action on Climate Change: Moral and/or Military

Take your choice:

From PolicyMic: America’s Top Military Leaders Say Our Biggest Threat Is One We’re All Ignoring:

.

On Tuesday, a group of former Pentagon leaders released a report on the most pressing issue to national security today. So was it terrorism? Benghazi? The economy?

No, it was the environment.

The report “makes a compelling case that climate change is no longer a future threat — it is taking place now. It observes that climate change serves as a catalyst of conflict in vulnerable parts of the world, and that projected changes in global migration patterns will make the challenges even more severe,” wrote a panel of 16 retired generals and admirals, who make up the Center for Naval Analyses’ Military Advisory Board …

The CNA report is unique in that it was written by those who were once top figures in the nation’s defense, and who still hold great sway in America’s defense and intelligence community.

From #BoldAction: The Moral Call for Climate Justice:

Reverend Lennox Yearwood gets that climate change and poverty, race and culture, democracy and corporate power, are all connected. He knows that it is a moral challenge, and he preaches the need for bold action.

  1. Poverty is not caused by climate change. It is usually caused by false belief systems, followed by corruption. Place people with certain beliefs into hostile territory, such as a dessert or cold weather and they will thrive. For example: Israel, Scotland, S-Africa, Australia, NZ, Canada, USA, Norway, Sweden .. all hostile climates with (relatively) thriving economies.

One should examine faith or belief systems upon economic progress. Not the weather or climate. it is just a inconvenient truth forgotten or intentionally ignored.

People are leaving Syria or Nigeria or Sudan or Egypt or Libya due to weather / climate ? You got to be kididing me !!!!
