Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue presents Carolyn J. Lukensmeyer, Executive Director of the National Institute for Civil Discourse and founder of AmericaSpeaks. Dr. Lukensmeyer will showcase ideas for how governments can engage citizens on a massive scale to receive meaningful and intelligent input into policy decisions, using 21st Century Town Halls to blend in-person and online engagement. She will also examine the role of civility in political discourse and suggest how governments and citizens can work to address increasing levels of political dysfunction.
