The idea of a place that is “neither here nor there” invokes somewhere in limbo, an in-between space where nothing is what it seems, and where anything is possible. This space may be one of limits, boundaries, and margins, but it is nevertheless full of potentials, perhaps even more so because it exists in the margins, in fragments and constellations; it is in the unknown that vitalisation and re-vitalisation can occur at a moment’s notice, that we can become more than human, and that matter and energy pulse powerfully with a profound, non-organic life.
Neither Here Nor There is a presentation of works by students in the MFA program at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts. It is comprised of an exhibition of interdisciplinary works both inside and outside of the Audain Gallery, accompanied by a five night series of live performances at SFU at the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts.
