As one of the foremost citizen engagement practitioners in North America, Dr. Lukensmeyer has gathered public input on issues ranging from the redevelopment of the World Trade Centre after 9/11 to the rebuilding of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.
Dr. Lukensmeyer will showcase ideas for how governments can engage citizens on a massive scale to receive meaningful and intelligent input into policy decisions, using 21st Century Town Halls to blend in-person and online engagement. She will also examine the role of civility in political discourse and suggest how governments and citizens can work to address increasing levels of political dysfunction.
