The post below, proclaiming the ‘greenest street in the world,’ seems to have generated some competition.
Here’s Stephen Rees’s submission:
Vancouver, 35th Avenue and Vine
And Peter Ladner’s:
East Vancouver, near Clark Park
And mine:
West End, 1400-block Barclay
.
Okay, more pink and brown, but trust me, gorgeous at any time of year.
Can you do better? Send a jpeg to pricetags at shaw dot ca, or provide a link in the comments (preferably with an address or location of the street) for your nomination of Greenest Street in the World.

Nice shots.
One difference between West Side and East Side homes is the tree canopy.
On the East Side, you have a higher proportion of working class folks who cultivate vegetable gardens – so trees are smaller and direct sunlight is maintained (great for fig trees).
On the West Side, many gardens are largely ornamental, so shade is more desirable.
We are talking about street trees here which are city property, the residents do control the size of the trees.
Sorry, do not control the size of the trees
