WORLD’S SHORTEST BIKES LANES

Ken Ohrn discovered this matched set of tiny bike lanes from Preston Grange, Scotland – a village just east of Edinburgh.

Short bike lanes

They are quite a lovely pair, and may be slightly beneficial.  Note the beige tile set into the sidewalk ramp, and a mysterious – two-metre-long fence set into the sidewalk.

This was originally published on Aug. 15. In late November, the city presented a bike master plan recommended by Mayor Mike McGinn went to the City Council, which is reviewing it. Details and links to the plan are here. The recommended plan has been met with considerable praise, including at a public hearing.
