What Colour is the Wall?

???????????????????????????????

.

I thought the two-toned Wall Centre tower was going to have its upper part (the light-coloured blue) replaced with glass that matched the lower portion.
The change seems to be underway – but doesn’t match up at all.  Maybe I’m missing something, but it looks at the moment that the reclad tower will be very similar in tones to the original.

  1. The appearance of the glass varies A LOT depending on viewig angle and weather conditions (cloudy or blue sky reflecting off of it).
The news reports said that the manuafcurer of the origibal glass went bankrupt – so an exact match is impossible.
This is supposed to be a “close” match. I think it has more blue than the bottom part, and from the south looks more similar to Wall Centre Phase 1 glass.
One thing is clear – the new glass hides the hideous window blinds that marred the appearance of the tower with the “clear” glass.
See lots of pics at SkyscraperPage.com where the match looks quite close (plus pics by a resident showing the replacement process if you flip back through the thread):

  2. It would seem that the City of Vancouver tax payers are once again going to be asked to ante up for a colossal muck up. I too thot’ that the whole idea of replacing the light colored glass at the top of Wall Tower would be to match it to the glass at the bottom………..guess what……The City Fathers must have a different concept…….perhaps their “Vision” is impaired!!!!
