Here’s a startling one from Sean Hodgins – at least for me when opening my mail first thing in the morning:

The picture was taken at the Coriano Ridge War Cemetery close to the Adriatic coast.
This and two other nearby cemeteries relate to the battles associated with the breaking of Hitler’s Gothic Line, Germany’s defensive position at that point in the war. Coriano Ridge has over 400 Canadians of the alnost 2,000 total Commonwealth casualties. Very moving.

My name also comes to mind, for some reason, when friends see something bike-related – like this one from Renate Bublick:

I took this picture at the central train station in Freiburg, Germany. This bike garage is multi-level and certainly a better way and more efficient way to store all those bikes using less of a land footprint..

I was told a couple months ago by a cab driver in Germany, “Bikes make fun in Frankfort.” I guess they also make fun in Freiburg.
