From Andrew Revkin in the New York Times:
Daniel Crawford, a cello-playing undergraduate at the University of Minnesota, came up with a new way to describe the trend and variations that both characterize our warming climate — a solo composition, “Song of Our Warming Planet,” in which notes represent annual temperature readings from 1880 to 2012 …
.
“a defining issue for our generation …”
When you see the chart unfold slowly, notice how, from about 1940 to the late 70s, one could make the case that there was no average rise in temperature. Just like some deniers today maintain that the plateauing of the last 16 years is evidence that global warming is fake science or, at least, exaggerated.

This is an incredibly interesting piece of science communication. Thank you for sharing.
