"The Summer Bicycles Took Control"

I knew that when bikeshare arrived in New York, the media would have a field day, and we’d all pay more attention to it than it could possibly deserve.
And sure enough – here’s another “‘Cause it happened in New York it must be the craziest thing that’s ever happened in the history of … um, well, history.”

When something happens simply, you’re not in New York. Drop 6,000 (soon to be 10,000) unsolicited bicycles into the heart of the most overpopulated, eccentric zip codes in the hemisphere, and what we get is a good old-fashioned bicycle freak-out.

Enjoy the freak-out details here in The Atlantic
