CITY CONVERSATIONS: The Lost Pleasures of Food & Eating
Take-out lunches. “Fresh” peaches in December. Heat-and-eat meals. Restaurant dinners with more buzz than conversation. Eating alone with the TV, or Twitter. So many have abandoned seasonal food and the social rituals of breaking bread with friends or family. Can growing food and eating together reverse this trend?
To start the conversation, we have Eric Sannerud, an urban farmer from the Univ. of Minnesota; Brendan Chan, a student at UBC majoring in food and environment, and a third presented TBC. Then it’s your turn. You’re welcome to bring your tasty lunch.
When: Thursday June 6th 2013
Time: 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Location: Room 2270, SFU Vancouver at Harbour Centre
Cost: Free
*Note* Guests are welcome to bring their lunch to City Conversations events
