We are, fortunately, getting little breaks of sunshine this spring, coinciding this weekend with a particularly low tide – as seen between Second and Third Beaches:

The result: rippled sand that looks almost metallic in the sun, contrasting with the outcroppings of moss-like greens on bars normally below water:














IIRC, that section of stanley park by siwash rock developed from a lateral volcanic vent from distant mt garibaldi.

Today’s low tide is 4.8 feet. Really low tide (1.2′) coming on Sunday the 28th at 2:12 pm. Good day for a beach walk! (May 26th: 0.3′ tide @ 1:07pm)
