The view east on the Millennium Line, from Brentwood Station:

.
But not, I expect, for long. A car dealership adjacent to a SkyTrain Station – all that asphalt! – is more a holding property than a long-term business, especially as Brentwood Centre redevelopments.
.
Expect to see a skyline looking more like the one currently seen from Brentwood: a ridgeline of highrises where the Expo Line glides through Metrotown.

Burnaby rezoned for the auto mall down the hill on Still Creek – most of the other car dealerships have moved down there as far as I know.
It’s probably agood thing that all 4 corners are not being developed simultaneously – since the market probably wouldn’t be able to bear it and you’d end up with some compromised projects.
A craigslist purchase took me to Brentwood last week. What an offensively pedestrian-last environment, and such a horrible, horrible waste next to the skytrain station. I don’t know who the hell Burnaby’s councillors and planner think they serve, but I have a sneaking suspicion they think a driver’s license is a voter registration card.
I cynically imagined a clueless engineer pointing to the scene in your first picture, to that bikelane, sidewalk, and the transit station: “What?! it’s a complete street! If people choose not to let their children walk or bike here, that must be down to personal choice! People just love to drive!”
