Call for Abstracts: 4th Subtropical Cities 2013 International Conference

I’m posting this because – just a hunch – some of you might be thinking Florida may have a certain appeal in October, despite the dilemma of flying there to discuss climate change.

SUBTROPICAL CITIES CONFERENCE – OCT 17-19  /  FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN

With the forces of climate change now acting upon us, the subtropical urban regions of the world are becoming the harbinger for “Braving a New World”, as the power of local knowledge and focused research is tested against global influences and our everyday engagements and actions reflect our position about the future we are designing for ourselves and for our future generations.

The FAU Florida Center for Environmental Studies is also conducting a Sea Level Rise summit in the lead up to our conference and we are running a design workshop addressing SLR in Fort Lauderdale facilitated by Brisbane-based Professor of Design Futures, Tony Fry of Griffith University and Professor of Design, Jim Gall, (QUT).
