SENIORS WANT URBANITY
… many who are able to move are choosing urban locations – both cities and suburban “town centers” – where they can be close to grown children, friends, work, public transportation, and health care. “Leading-edge boomers will not settle gracefully into quiet retirement and move into traditional seniors housing communities for years, if they ever do,” said ULI Senior Resident Fellow for Housing Fellow John K. McIlwain.

FRASER INSTITUTE FAVOURS MORE RED TAPE
“The key is to ensure that there is the strongest, the best regulatory system in place compared to anywhere in the world.”
– Joel Wood, senior research economist at the Fraser Institute, in the Vancouver Sun.

Vancouver is going to wave the KPMG report under the noses of every business owner in the city that is complaining about the high rate of property tax. Problem is, the distinction has more to do with employment, provincial and federal income tax and also does not clarify if it has considered Vancouver proper or the GVRD. There is still a huge issue around tax competitiveness between Vancouver and its local neighbours.
