Is This Real? New York keeps converting

The latest ‘Green Light for Midtown’ project: at Columbus Circle.

It looks almost too good to be believable – in the heart of midtown Manhattan.

  1. I walk through this intersection everyday, and the pedestrian strip is always in use. Its wonderful to sit in a movable chair and face the sidewalk, the traffic, the circle or the bike lane. Truly a great enjoyable space, and the buildings that surround it are wonderful architecturally at their upper levels which normally are rarely noticed, but when you sit here and gaze up its great!

  2. Nice before and afters! This also shows a bit of my handiwork in the redesign of Columbus circle: before – bleh, after – trees!!!
