As someone whose perspective on this country was shaped by the CBC (radio in particular) , I’m grateful. And on the day after its budget was cut by 10 percent (and not, I think, just for budgetary reasons), the irony need go unstated when I doubly express my thanks for this:

When CBC 2 changed its format from classical, it lost me as a listener. But now I have access to CBC Music – maybe one of the best streaming services in the world.
So I sit here, satisfied by Murray Perahia and Mozart, and thinking, these are my tax dollars well spent – for something free to access, diverse in taste, and Canadian in content, from Blue Rodeo to aboriginal.
So again, CBC, thanks.

Although my tastes probably run quite differently from yours, I agree with you completely on this. CBC Music is definitely one of the best things the CBC has come up with in a long time.
