Reminder: Jarrett Walker on Human Transit

Jarrett Walker – just possibly the best blogger on transit and transportation anywhere – is now launching his book: Human Transit.

In Human Transit, Walker supplies the basic tools, the critical questions and the means to make smarter decisions about designing and implementing transit services. Whether you are in the field or simply a concerned citizen, he provides an accessible guide to achieving successful public transit that will enrich any community.

  1. Great lecture. Thanks to Jarrett Walker and of course, SFU City for making all of this possible. Just out of curiosity Gordon, you mentioned in your opening speech that SFU City is exploring different education degrees or certifications or courses related to transportation planning, potentially offering something different than what existing programs within Vancouver (whether it’s in SFU or UBC) has to offer. Could you tell us a bit more about this?

      Thanks for asking – we’re just at the early stages of planning for a Certificate in Sustainable Transportation, similar to the two others we offer at the City Program.
