The Vancouver Park Board is working to improve facilities for cycling in Stanley Park. A consultant has been hired to create a functional cycling plan that is unobtrusive and sensitive to the existing qualities of the park. (Emphasis mine.) The objective of the cycling plan is to identify and integrate cycling improvements in order to enhance the experience of the park for all users including pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, people with mobility constraints and motorists.

TOO MUCH SUCCESS
Montreal’s bike-path network is a victim of its own success, according to the Gazette:
Along with a boom in the number of cyclists for which the new paths were intended, riders are finding themselves sharing their lanes with joggers, walkers, in-line skaters, motorized wheelchairs, non-motorized wheelchairs, scooters, skateboarders and baby strollers pushed by strolling parents, all of whom are clamouring for space to move in a crowded urban environment.
