  1. Nice! I usually read your blog via google reader. This is a interesting layout, kind of like a newspaper/magazine layout. One suggestion, I would prefer if new entries appeared on the left and old entries appeared on the right. Just my two cents 🙂

  2. As someone who is moving towards starting a blog, “DePo Masthead” is not grabbing me. Hmmm….the layout is better than the font style.

    Did you consider other choices?

  3. Nothing about the colour scheme, but I’m personally not a fan of these kinds of pages. I prefer the traditional blog style of one thing on top of another, rather than trying to emulate what works on a printed page. I do agree the masthead isn’t super catchy, but it works.

  4. For me, the header takes up too much space, and there is too much white space around the articles. I find that the article gets lost in the page, even though it is the most important thing here. (I’m referring to the article page, not the home page.)

  5. Also, I don’t like how you have to click for comments. Often times the debates and comments on your blog are enlightening and interesting (unusual, I know), and that’s part of what I enjoy. You also have to click on the article itself to see how many comments have been left, which is really quite irritating, as in the previous page you could tell right on the home page. It’s a whole lot of extra clicking, really.

  6. Nope, don’t like it.

To read the first article, you have to go scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, down to the bottom of the page. Then on to the next. Scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll up, and then scroll, scroll, etc. back down.

Long skinny columns work in a newspaper, but not so well in a web page.

  7. Not a fan of the three columns. It makes it hard to identify, at a quick glance, whether any new information is up on the site. Then, once the new post has been identified, there’s the awkward skinny column to scoll down – and then hunt for the comments at the end. Negative Nancy over here preferred the old one-column, one-post-at-a-time layout.

But of course, I’ll keep reading despite the layout – it’s the great content I’m after!
