The SCARPies are putting on a show.
Well, a symposium actually. The students at UBC’s School of Community and Regional Planning are tackling sustainable planning for three days next week.

Registration and details are here for the March 12-14 event. (I’ll be doing a bike tour as part of it.)
They’ve got a good line-up of speakers, including visiting prof Thomas Campanella. He’s the author of what I thought was one of the best books of 2008: The Concrete Dragon.
If you can’t make the symposium, but would like to hear Dr. Campanella speak on “China and the Urbanism of Ambition,” then you’ll want to come to this City Program lecture on March 12th at 7 pm, being held in cooperation with SCARP at SFU Harbour Centre. Register at cstudies@sfu.ca or call 778.782.5100.
