It’s a competition:
“FormShift Vancouver challenges you to … design solutions that will help shape the future of the city. Be it by expanding upon Vancouver’s traditional design solutions or offering an entirely new perspective, this is your chance to build a hypothetical neighbourhood of the future, one that is in keeping with the vibrant, ecologically-friendly and sustainable city to which we aspire.”
Good words. We have a chance to take a breath from the frenetic boom we’ve been through. Now’s the time to excite ourselves with new possibilities.
But what kind of mixed-use development near a transit station, or small residential site, or wild-card design will make this city greener, more affordable and retain livability? That’s the point of Shift Form.
