The LED revolution has transformed bike lighting – from bulky, expensive and tepid to compact, cheap and intense. Any bikeway on a winter night is punctuated with blinks of white and red.
So this evening I pulled the camera out of the backpack, turned off the flash and tried to capture the effect.

Okay, very moody, and if done in oil could probably be hung at Buschlen Mowatt. But not what I was looking for.
This, however, is interesting. The time lapse eliminates the cyclist but records five pulses of the LED:
