A video about the feedback loops likely to lead to catastrophic climate change.  No, not cheery, but kinda important to know about.

And just in case that’s not convincing, check out this article, taken from The Independent:

The first evidence that millions of tons of a greenhouse gas 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide is being released into the atmosphere from beneath the Arctic seabed has been discovered by scientists.

In the past few days, the researchers have seen areas of sea foaming with gas bubbling up through “methane chimneys” rising from the sea floor. They believe that the sub-sea layer of permafrost, which has acted like a “lid” to prevent the gas from escaping, has melted away to allow methane to rise from underground deposits formed before the last ice age.

  1. Hi Gordon, I don’t know if you’ve heard of it but there is a big movement happening in defense of the environment this election where people are “voting smart” to try stop Harper from gaining a majority and thus continuing his dismal environmental record.

We’re tying to get the word out to as many people as possible, maybe you could have a look and post the music video or the website or a brief blurb about it on your blog – http://www.avaaz.ca/ca/stop_harper_pledge/

    and also http://www.voteforenvironment.ca/

the more we get the word out the better our chances of making a difference this election.

Thanks so much, I am a big fan!
