UPDATE: Neil Salmond has some suggested readings and a few items of his own to bring up at the meeting.
Two recent pieces of reference reading for the Bring Your Boomers event.

Mark Jaccard in The Walrus. This article made his case really eloquently.  “This is not rocket science: If you want to hit an emissions target, you set a cap that equals it. You have to start now, because a 65 percent reduction entails a complete makeover of our carbon-dominated economy.”

David Roberts’ Grist latest – much shorter, just as chilling:  “The damage we’re doing now is something the next 40 to 50 generations will have to cope with, even if we stop emitting CO2 tomorrow.”

Now, candidates and public servants, tell us again why thin streets are too dangerous.  Why large setbacks are mandatory. Why the majority of space between buildings must be car-first.

Tell us why we don’t have enough space to put the bikelane on the sidewalk-side of the parked cars.   Why parking must be free.

Tell us why Tsawwassen Mills is a-ok but Southlands is back to the drawing board.   Why Port Mann and Massey get more provincial attention than King George and Broadway.

And tell me why we ticket bike-riders for wearing the wrong hat.  Tell me again about the cost of those goddamn pumps.
